# Jo

> Jo (序) is a paid Mac app for preparing Instagram photo carousels. Import photos from Photos or Finder, compare shots and mark favourites, arrange several carousels at once, crop each slide, preview the covers beside a published feed, and export the slides to post from your usual app. One-time purchase on the Mac App Store, macOS 14 or later, no subscription.

Key facts:

- Runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later. There is no Windows, web or Android version. An iPhone companion is in development.
- Price: one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. See https://tryjo.app for the current price in local currency. No subscription and no in-app purchases.
- Formats: Post 4:5, Square 1:1, Landscape 16:9 and Story 9:16, with a separate crop per format. Two-slide panoramas.
- Feed preview shows planned carousels beside published posts from a public Instagram profile. It needs an internet connection and a public profile.
- Exports slides as JPEG or PNG to Files, Photos or the clipboard. Jo does not post to Instagram and does not schedule posts.
- Jo does not edit or filter photos. Edit first in another app if you want to, then bring the finished images in.
- Privacy: photos and projects stay on the Mac, or in the user's private iCloud database when sync is on. Jo has no server and no account. Photos and text never go to the analytics provider.
- Named after 序 (jo), the first movement in jo-ha-kyu, the pacing structure used in Noh theatre.
